Fun things happen when you put your iPod on 'Shuffle'

If you're like me, then you keep songs on your iPod even if you don't like them or if they're outdated. When I decided to mix it up the other day on my plane ride home from Manchester (where My Chemical Romance was just about to play...ironic???) I got a plethora of songs from back in the old days: "1,000 Miles" by Vanessa Carlton, "Ocean Avenue" by Yellowcard, "Boys of Summer" by the Ataris, and the one that I will harp on in this blog: "Shimmer" by Fuel....if you haven't heard this song, then you obviously didn't go to middle school.

"We're here and now, but will we ever be again?
cause I have found
All that shimmers in this world is sure to fade
Away again
Guess I'll let it go"

People let us down...it's harsh, but true. But I know that no matter WHAT I do in my life, God has shown me that he is always going to be right there. He's never gonna let us down, he's our strength, our hope and our one chance of survival.

"The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of OUR God stands forever" - Isaiah 40:8

I love listening to outdated songs because if you haven't listened to a song in a while the next time you hear it there is always something new, but what you loved about the song in the first place will always be there. I totally agree with everything you said, including the middle school thing.

stepho21 took everything I had to say...

so, instead, I will quote one of your favorite movies:

"Words offer the means to meaning, and to those who listen, the enunciation of truth"
awesome blog, kat

That song was played at Ben's Bar Mitzvah, wasn't it? I remember that, we used to listen to it nonstop.
The point that you make is hard, but true. The only person we can ever fully rely on is God. We will constantly be let down if we hold others to our own expectations. We have to let people be people and trust God will all our hearts, because he's never going to let us down

i love "shuffle" you never know what you can expect to hear, but you know it will be good because at some point or another you thought it was good enough to put on there in the first place.
